Parks Canada Repeater installation on North Shoulder of Lipalian Mountain  - Public Comments Invited

2026-03-06 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project Repeater installation, located North Shoulder of Lipalian Mountain is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Parks Canada is proposing the installation of one repeater on the north shoulder of Lipalian Mountain in Banff National Park, AB.  The project will add one 2 meter high, omnidirectional  antenna and a radio on a small support structure. The system will operate in the VHF band  to service the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake visitor shuttle bus traffic. There may be periodic equipment additions or replacements as required for any radiocommunications service.
