The Proposed Project
Keeseekoose First Nation is planning to complete two previously installed raw water wells, PW5-2025 & PW6-2025. These new wells will be connected to the existing raw water mains servicing the well field, and electrically serviced from the existing well control building. Well completions will involve excavating around the existing well casing and installation of a pitless adapter, as well as installation of all pumping and piping equipment within the casing.
Site preparation activities will include stripping of topsoil where well flush-outs, raw water mains, and electrical servicing lines are to be installed. Construction activities will consist of excavations around the existing well casings and installation of mechanical equipment within the casing. Approximately 25 m of raw water main will be installed to connect the new wells to the existing raw water main. Concrete pads will be installed adjacent to each well, complete with associated piping, valves, and drains, and approximately 150 m of buried underground electrical cable will be installed from the wells to the well control building.
All waste anticipated to be generated during construction will be responsibly managed and disposed of at designated off-reserve facilities. Measures will also be implemented to minimize waste generation and mitigate potential contamination pathways associated with the use of petroleum products during construction activities.
