Edmonton Regional Airports Authority (ERAA) and K5 Dual 1 Ltd. must decide whether the proposed construction of a new hotel, located at the Edmonton International Airport (YEG), is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, ERAA and K5 Dual 1 Ltd. are inviting public comments on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry website.

The Proposed Project

 

K5 Dual 1 Ltd. is proposing the development of a new dual-branded hotel, bringing job creation opportunities to drive the region's economic growth.  The development is proposed for an undeveloped area east of YEG. When complete, the hotel will have 168 total guest suites consisting of 56 standard king rooms, 44 standard double queen rooms, and 68 extended-stay suites. Accessible suites, and pet-friendly rooms are included in the proposed plan. Amenities will include over 2,000 square feet of meeting space, fitness centre, outdoor terrace, pool, hot tub and restaurant.
