Joyceville Institution Cattle and Goat Barn Construction – Public Comments Invited
August 17, 2020 - The Correctional Service of Canada must determine whether the proposed project located in Joyceville, Ontario is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this determination, the Correctional Service of Canada is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment.

The Proposed Project
As part of the re-opening of CORCAN farms at Joyceville Institution, Ontario, new barns will be built for dairy operations. The barns will be of 9,547 m2 in total size, and will house the operations for both cow and goat dairy farming. The barns will also include offices for staff and classrooms for offender programs. The barns will be built near the former Joyceville farming operation, but will also expand into the adjacent fields.
