Decontamination and Destruction of Blocks 6 & 7 at 600 Montée-Sainte-François, Laval - Public Comments Invited

August 26, 2020 – The Correctional Service of Canada must determine whether the proposed project located in Laval, Quebec is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the Correctional Service of Canada is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment.

The Proposed Project

Existing buildings 6 and 7 are contaminated with materials containing asbestos and mold, and interior spaces do not meet current Correctional Service of Canada design standards for a minimum security facility. It is planned to replace these obsolete buildings with a new minimum security residential unit.
