Guardrail Installations at select Culverts on Lower Spring Road and 11th Line at 4 CDTC Meaford

December 19, 2025 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. Real Property Operations is proposing to install guardrails at two culverts, specifically at culvert 6.029, located just past the range access gate on Lower Spring Road and culvert 6.018, on 11th Line. Construction will consist of installing erosion and sedimentation control, installing posts and guardrail, as per design requirements, and applying sealer along the roadside. Any excess fill will be managed in accordance with federal and provincial requirements, with an intent to re-use on the base. This Project will ensure safe use of the roadways
