Notice of Time Limit Resumption

Ottawa — December 15, 2025 — On December 11, 2025, the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation (the proponent) provided its Response to the Summary of Issues and Detailed Project Description for the Georgina Island Fixed Link Project (the project) to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC). On December 15, 2025, IAAC determined that these documents contain sufficient information to inform its section 16 decision regarding whether a further assessment is required. The proponent thereby completed the activity for which it requested that the time limit be suspended on June 22, 2022, and the 180-day time limit has resumed as of December 11, 2025.

The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment, if IAAC decides that a further assessment is required for the project.
