The proposed project
The upland property owner at 1108 Alderside Road in Port Moody is proposing to construct a private residential dock within the water lot fronting the property. The dock would consist of a 30.48 metre long pier (made up of two 15 metre long sections), a 18.3 metre ramp and new float that has a footprint of 17.5 square metres (2.4 m X 7.3 m). Both sections of the pier would be supported by four concrete piles and foundations consisting of (0.6 m X 1.2 m X 2.4 m) concrete pads. The pier would consist of pressure treated decking and cross bracing over an aluminum frame.
The proposed private residential dock is currently positioned too close to the adjacent docks on both sides, which does not meet the required spatial separation standard. The Applicant has acknowledged this issue and confirmed that the neighbouring dock locations will be adjusted to ensure compliance with the 10-metre separation requirement.
Construction is expected to take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to complete
