Notice of Determination
Brokenhead Ojibway Nation – November 24, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Land Base Building is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- Indigenous knowledge;
- community knowledge;
- technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
- Air quality – emissions and dust
- Weather/Climate/Microclimate- precipitation, temperature, soil erosion and stability
- Soil – erosion, stability, contamination
- Surface Water – quality, contamination
- Groundwater – contamination
- Vegetation
- Fish/Fish Habitat – quality, contamination
- Wildlife
- Human Health and Safety – worker health and safety
- Employment and Income
- Noise
- Public Concern
- Hazardous Waste and Waste
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. Environmental effects that are within provincial jurisdiction would be addressed through provincial regulations.
Therefore, Indigenous Services Canada may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
