Yellowhead Copper Project
Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons
Ottawa — October 17, 2025 — On October 9, 2025, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) suspended the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Yellowhead Copper Project proposed by Taseko Mines Limited (the proponent).
IAAC has taken this action in consideration of a written request from the proponent that the time limit be suspended in order that it may have sufficient time to provide to IAAC a response to the federal matters identified in the Joint Summary of Issues and Engagement, and to maintain alignment between the Simpcw Assessment Process and the provincial and federal assessment processes.
When the proponent has provided IAAC with its responses to the key issues in federal jurisdiction identified in the Joint Summary of Issues and Engagement, IAAC will post a notice indicating that the prescribed activity is completed, and the 180-day time limit will resume.
