Construction of an Atikamekw training centre in Wemotaci – Public Comments Invited

October 24, 2025 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed [project name], located in [general location] is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

Construction of an Atikamekw training centre in Wemotaci near the Nikanik secondary school in Wemotaci. A site has been identified nearby and the land has already been cleared. Preparatory work will include removing topsoil and backfilling the infrastructure.
