The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. The DND is proposing to deconstruct the New Glasgow Armoury (Building NG1). The building occupies a footprint of approximately 790 square metres and is located within an identified contaminated site. Project activities are expected to include hazardous materials abatement, deconstruction/demolition of the building including all additions and associated architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical components; removal and capping of all redundant underground services at the property line; removal of all overhead services; backfill and grading of excavations/trenches; removal and off-site disposal of all hazardous and non-hazardous building materials; and restoration of the ground surface. The proposed building deconstruction is scheduled to begin in Fiscal Year 2026-2027.
