August 21, 2025 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing a project. This project entails the design and implementation of upgrades to underground infrastructure within Zones A, C and D within 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown in Oromocto New Brunswick. The project focuses on upgrading water, sanitary, and stormwater systems based on findings from previous condition assessments, with the goal of improving system reliability, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and supporting future operational needs. The design will prioritize minimal disruption to base activities and public services while ensuring long-term infrastructure sustainability.
