The Proposed Project

Signature Aviation is proposing to construct and operate a new hangar for fixed wing aircraft located at 4360 Agar Drive, Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, B.C. This facility is an expansion of the existing Signature hangar complex at this location. The new hangar building is proposed to be approximately 3,853 square meters of floor space over one and half floors. The total project area is approximately 13000 m2. The new hangar building will include aircraft maintenance area and storage area, as well as office spaces. New facilities will include the new hangar building, new aircraft apron, construction of security fence including relocation of primary security line (PSL), parking lot expansion, landscaping, new vehicle lanes and pathways, utilities and site services. The hangar is intended as a facility for aircraft storage and maintenance. The hangar is designed to accommodate up to two fixed-wing aircraft at any one time. Aircraft movements will therefore vary from day to day, depending on the scheduling of maintenance and charter flights rather than a fixed timetable.

The site is currently occupied by paved parking lot and vacant land.

Signature Aviation is also planning to construct a helicopter hangar located southwest of the fixed wing hangar. The two hangars are assessed as separate projects.
