FRPD New West Works Yard - Pile Installations
Notice of Determination
New Westminster, B.C. – May 9, 2025 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed validity extension amendment for FRPD New West Works Yard – Pile Installation, located at the foot of 20 Street and River Road, New Westminster is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
- Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples
- Indigenous knowledge
- Community knowledge
- Comments received from the public
- Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures
The project was posted to the Canadian Impact Assessment Registry on February 26, 2025 for public comment. No comments relevant to the project were received.
Mitigation measures and/or permit conditions taken into account in making the determination include:
- Mitigation measures and permit conditions that were part of the project and environmental review of Project Permit PER No. 23-033
The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
