Public Notice

July 3, 2025 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by August 2, 2025 to contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

Bell Canada plans to install submarine fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes, to residential homes in Talon Lake and Kaibuskong Bay. The project involves the installation of approximately 4.8 km of submarine fiber optic cable from Shields point road to Andrews lane and 0.14 km crossing Spottswood Bay.
