Notice of Updated Decision Statement

Ottawa — September 25, 2025 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) has published an updated Decision Statement for the James Bay Lithium Mine Project (the project), following a notice of change submitted by Galaxy Lithium (Canada) Inc. on May 8, 2025, of the proposed changes to the project. Among the proposed modifications, the only one considered to be a change to the designated project is the use of watercourse CE3 rather than Kapisikama Lake as the primary water source for the concrete plant. IAAC reviewed this modification and concluded that its potential for adverse impacts to areas of federal jurisdiction is negligible.

To ensure that the existing conditions in the Decision Statement continue to apply to the new primary water source, Condition 1.33, which defines the designated project, has been updated to reflect this change.

In additionally, in response to a request received on July 11, 2025, the project name in the Decision Statement has been updated to "Galaxy Lithium Project."
