The Proposed Project
There is a small, unused pumphouse on Department of National Defence (DND) land owned by Greater Vernon Water Utility. The pump house is 5.5 m x 8 m in size and is surrounded by a chain-link fence, which will also be removed. The entire project area including access from the nearby paved area is approximately 200 m². A hazardous material assessment was completed, and these materials will be removed prior to the pump house structure being demolished. The fence posts will be pulled from the ground without additional digging.
BC. Real Property Operations Unit Pacific det Chilliwack is carrying out an assessment and Species at Risk permitting in order to support the North Okanagan Regional District, who will carry out the demolition.
