May 30, 2025 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project
The Department of National Defence (DND) is proposing to carry out pavement repair/replacement activities at 12 Wing Shearwater and Windsor Park, Canadian Forces Base Halifax. The proposed work at 12 Wing is expected to take place at Seafire Avenue and consist of sidewalk, curb and gutter removal and installation of new widened sidewalk, curb and gutter, as well as milling and paving a portion of the road with new 50-millimeter asphalt. The proposed work at Windsor Park is expected to take place at Hawk Terrace and Barracks Drive and consist of sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement, catch basin grate, frames and curb drain removal and replacement, as well as milling and paving the roads with new 50-millimeter asphalt. The work is expected to take place Summer/Fall 2025.
