Construction of a building – Public Comments Invited

February 26, 2025 – The Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) must determine whether the proposed construction of a building, located in Rhome, Texas, USA is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, BDC is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

174 Capital (Rhome) Inc. and GNB Global Inc. are requesting financing from BDC for the construction of a new building at 174 Capital Lane, Rhome, Texas, USA. The site is approximately 28,037 m2 in size and is currently occupied by a 2,323 m2 steel warehouse building. The new building will be constructed adjacent to the existing warehouse on an existing gravel pad, requiring no vegetation removal. The property has no trees or water body in the surrounding area.

The new fabric tension building will have a total footprint of approximately 2,787 m2 and will be used for the fabric building manufacturing and installation activities of GNB Global Inc. There are no planned modifications to the current building.
