February 05, 2025 – Indian Oil and Gas Canada – IOGC (the Authority) must determine whether the proposed Wellsite Expansion within 11-06-043-09W5M and associated Borrow Pit located in Sunchild Reserve is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, IOGC is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Assessment Description - The Proposed Project

The proposed wellsite expansion by TAQA North Ltd  is being constructed within 11-06-43-9W5M in Sunchild Reserve to allow for drilling of 2 additional gas wells from an existing lease. Additional footprint for this project will be 0.73 ha yielding to a total of 2.22 ha (existing plus new footprint). A borrow pit located entirely within the footprint of an existing borrow pit will be utilized.
