The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. Canadian Forces have been allocated land east of Camp Adazi in Latvia to develop facilities supporting operational requirements. The initial phase will include site preparation to allow for future development. Site preparation will include earthworks to allow for the construction of large gravel pads, access roads, a protective berm to the adjacent petroleum, oil and lubricant point, perimeter fencing and lighting. Ditching will be established on both sides of roadways and French drains installed below gravel pads to facilitate drainage of the site.

This project will support future construction of permanent structures and sub-compounds, including a second line maintenance facility, utilities connections (power, gas, water, wastewater and communications) from the existing network to the construction projects and through for Host Nation expansion requirements, storage facilities, wash rack, vehicle marshalling area and boneyard.
