Bank stabilization at Latchford dam – Public Comments Invited

January 9, 2025 – The authority must determine whether the proposed Bank stabilization at Latchford dam, located in Latchford, ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the authority is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

This project involves engineered reinstatement and careful placement of material that was lost recently due to erosion. This will ensure the bank is stabilized and can withstand further erosive forces. The work will require in-water placement of aggregate material with the use of heavy machinery as well as replacement and adjustment of filter cloth.
