Notice of Time Limit Resumption

Ottawa — December 18, 2024 — On December 11, 2024, Kiwetinohk Energy Corp. (the proponent) provided its response to the Summary of Issues for the Black Bear Power Plant Project (the project) to the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC). On December 16, 2024, IAAC determined that this document contains sufficient information to inform its section 16 decision regarding whether an impact assessment is required. Therefore, IAAC is of the view that a Detailed Project Description for the project was not required. The proponent thereby completed the activity for which it requested that the time limit be suspended on September 6, 2024, and the 180-day time limit has resumed as of December 11, 2024.

The 180-day time limit is the period of time within which IAAC must provide the proponent with a notice of the commencement of the impact assessment, if IAAC decides that an impact assessment of the project is required.
