Expansion of Gravel Compound at Camp Ceri – Task Force Latvia (TFL), Ceri Military Base

December 12, 2024 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. This project consists of the execution of the work, the provision of materials and the labor necessary for the construction of a gravel pad of 0.5 hectares in size. Construction work will include, grubbing, stripping, levelling, and filling of areas, installation of French-drains and construction of a gravel pad. This space will serve as parking areas, vehicle storage and equipment.

The new compound will expand upon the immediately adjacent areas at the Ceri Military Base previously developed by DND Ceri Military Base Gravel Pads Compounds.
