Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbors (DFO-SCH) publish the Notice of Determination and have determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
This determination was based on the following factors:
- impacts on the rights of Indigenous peoples of Canada;
- Indigenous knowledge;
- community knowledge;
- comments received from the public; And
- technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.
Mitigation measures will be implemented for several elements of the environment, in particular the following elements: air, water, fish and marine mammals. The various mitigation measures for the project are attached.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbors (DFO-SCH) is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
Therefore, Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbors (DFO-SCH) may carry out the project, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project to be carried out in whole or in part.
