Notice of Termination

Ottawa — December 4, 2024 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) terminated the impact assessment for the Wasamac Gold Mine Project. In accordance with section 20(1) of the Impact Assessment Act (IAA), Agnico Eagle Mines Limited, the proponent, did not provide IAAC with the required information or studies within the three-year deadline prescribed by the IAA. The deadline, which was March 27, 2024, had been adjusted to December 3, 2024 to take into account the 251 days of the transitional period of the IAA following the Supreme Court of Canada decision.
