The Proposed Project

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH) are proposing to demolish the existing docks and supporting structure at the Cedar Beach Small Craft Harbour. The docks are in poor condition and have started to deteriorate to the point where the structure may not be safe for public use. The dock decking, steel frames, a sheet pile wall and approximately twenty-nine (29) steel pipe piles will be removed and leveled to the lakebed.

It is anticipated that the contractor will use various pieces of heavy equipment (i.e., an excavator, small crane, skid steer, and trailers) to remove the structures. The wharf decking will be released from the support piles and pulled apart in sections where it will be stockpile on land. Piles will be pulled/lifted onto shore with a crane. All wharf materials will be hauled to a disposal location off site.
