Air Canada Ground Service Equipment Building – New Type 1 Glycol Dispensing System – Public Comments Invited

 

November 14, 2024 – The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) must determine whether the proposed New Type I Glycol Dispensing System located at the Air Canada Ground Service Equipment Building, 3125 Convair Drive, Mississauga ON is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, the GTAA is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. The Proposed Project: New Type I Glycol Dispensing System

The scope of work for this project consists of the following:

Removal of existing Type I glycol dispensing system including a 22,700L double-walled aboveground steel storage tank, a shed containing two pneumatic transfer pumps, air compressor and remote fill spill containers, and two storage totes w/ stands. An existing asphalt berm surrounding the system will be removed. Existing concrete apron and pad will remain. Existing 600V electrical circuits/conduits will be terminated back to source. Existing 120/240V electrical circuits will be reused.

Installation of new 25,000L double-walled aboveground steel storage tank with remote fill spill container, audible/visual overfill alarm console, electric diaphragm pump with dispensing nozzle and stand, and pole mounted area light. All new equipment will be skid-mounted and installed on a new reinforced concrete storage tank pad with concrete jersey barrier traffic protection. Power to new electrical equipment will be provided from existing panels inside the Air Canada GSE building.
