The Proposed Project
Project Title: Climate Change Adaptation Project for Women in Protected Areas in Congo and Chad (ELLESadAPt)
Project Summary: The Climate Change Adaptation Project for Women in Protected Areas in Congo and Chad (ELLESadAPt) is funded by the Canadian government through Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Développement international Desjardins (DID) and Baastel in collaboration with Noé Congo and Noé Tchad.
This project aims to enhance the climate change adaptation of women and ecosystems while generating biodiversity conservation benefits in two Protected Areas (PA): the Conkouati-Douli National Park (PNCD) in Congo and the Binder-Léré Protected Area Complex (CAPBL) in Chad. In this context, rehabilitation and construction work is planned within and around these protected areas. The planned physical works include the expansion of the headquarters, construction and/or renovation of offices, warehouses, control posts, bridges, and paths, as well as the installation of electric fences for cultivation.
