Notice of Time Limit Suspension with Reasons

Ottawa — September 13, 2024 — On September 6, 2024, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (IAAC) suspended the 180-day time limit for the planning phase under the Impact Assessment Act for the Black Bear Power Plant Project proposed by Kiwetinohk Energy Corp. (the proponent).

IAAC has taken this action in consideration of a written request from the proponent that the time limit be suspended in order that it may have sufficient time to provide IAAC with a notice that sets out how it intends to address the issues referred to in the Summary of Issues, provided to the proponent on August 23, 2024.

When the proponent has provided IAAC with its Response to the Summary of Issues, IAAC will post a notice that the prescribed activity is completed and the 180-day time limit will resume.
