Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is responsible for maintaining safe and accessible harbours at Hecla, MB. The floating docks have reached the end of their functional life and require replacement.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada – Small Craft Harbours are proposing to replace a series of floating docks at Hecla harbour. The floating dock replacement will require the removal and disposal of the existing docks and supporting anchoring systems, as well as a timber crib structure which are part of the north-central stringer. A new crib and ballast rock will be constructed near shore. Anchor piles will be installed to support the location of the new floating docks. A total of seventeen (17) floating docks will be placed in the water and floated into a specific arrangement.
It is anticipated that the contractor will use the hand power tools including chainsaws, as well as various pieces of heavy equipment (i.e., an excavator, small crane, skid steer, and trailers).
