Telus telecommunications tower located on Kehewin Cree Nation located south of Bonnyville, AB - Public Comments Invited


 

2024-09-06– Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.


 

Written comments must be submitted by 2024-10-08 to the contact identified on the project page.


 

The Proposed Project


 

Telus Communications Inc. is proposing to install a new 110m guyed tower (111.5m to lightning rod) to provide enhanced wireless coverage to Kehewin Cree Nation. There will be a fenced 10m x 10m compound at the base of the tower where an equipment shelter will be located. The site will contain 3 fenced anchor points. Antennas may include FFV4-65C-R6 and FFV4Q4-65D-R7 panel antennas operating in cellular bands (600 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 1900 MHz, 2300 MHz, and 2600 MHz. This new tower may have periodic antenna additions or replacements, as required for any Radiocommunication service.
