AltaGas Ltd. REEF project tower – Ridley Island, Port Edward   - Public Comments Invited

2024-08-15 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

Written comments must be submitted by 2024-09-17 to the contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

AltaGas Ltd. is proposing to erect a temporary 32.3m lattice radiocommunications tower at the REEF marine export terminal located on Ridley Island, BC.  The purpose of the tower is to provide radio coverage for initial construction work on site.  The tower will be mounted on a trailer and will contain one UHF (450-470 MHz) collinear omnidirectional antenna.  The tower may undergo periodic antenna additions, replacements, or other minor modifications.
