New Fibre Installation

The Lubicon Lake Band and Mighty Peace Wireless plan to install underground fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes, to all residential homes in Little Buffalo, Alberta. The project involves the installation of approximately 36 km of underground fiber optic cable, of which about 10 km is on Federal Land, from the Bell/Axia POP site near the intersection of Calahesen Rd and Ominayak Rd, running through the community of Little Buffalo, and beyond, to the Lubicon Lake Band Cultural Center.

The cable is to be buried by directional drilling, trenching, or using existing conduits, or a combination of these methods in existing roadway alignments.
