The Proposed Project
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is responsible for maintaining a safe and accessible harbour in Moose Lake, MB. Repairs to the launch ramp at the Moose Lake Harbour site are required in order to maintain a safe and functioning harbour.
Fisheries and Ocean Canada - Small Craft Harbours (DFO-SCH) are proposing to remove and replace the existing concrete launch ramp with a new concrete launch ramp at the Moose Lake harbour site. The existing structure is deteriorating, damaged, and was recently found to be too small for community use by trailers and boats. The new ramp will include a rock apron, riprap armour and new concrete pads which will extend slightly further into the water and upland from the existing footprint. The entire construction area is estimated to be 195 metres squared.
The contractor will use a combination of heavy equipment (likely an excavator and skidsteer) to complete the proposed work.
