New Fibre Installation

Xplore Inc. plans to install underground fiber optic cabling, for Internet purposes, to all residential homes in the Tobique Indian Reserve No. 20. The project involves the installation of approximately 7 km of aerial fiber optic cable: approximately 200 m on Larley Road, 1.2 km on Route 105 at the crossing of Cochrane Brook, 300 m at the intersection of Pearl and Lerwick Roads, 300 m on Route 390 near Pokiok River, and the remaining length of fibre along Route 105 crossing the Tobique First Nation.

Additionally, approximately 200 m of aerial fibre will be installed on Route 165, crossing the Woodstock Indian Reserve No. 23, at the height of Maliseet Drive and Mahsus Drive.

Furthermore, approximately 3 km of aerial fibre will be installed on Route 690, on the road bordering, but outside of, the Portobello Creek National Wildlife Area, between McGowans Corner and Sunset Drive.

The cable is to be attached to existing support structures such as utility/telephone poles that parallel existing roadways. Support structures may require structural improvements to support cable attachments.
