Project Description
Implement deficiencies outlined by the PSPC Environmental audit review along with Health & Safety (H&S) improvements for the tenant owned (Health Canada) exterior emergency generator and associated fuel storage tank system.
Work will include:
- Hoisting existing genset out of containment (temporary withdrawal of the system).
- Install temporary back-up generator and connect to building.
- Modify vent pipe.
- Installation of permanent bollards to prevent vehicular impact.
- Installation of metal access stairs and platforms (to service equipment).
- Prepare concrete within the containment area and remove old sealant.
- Install new concrete topping and replace sealant/caulking.
- Prime and paint new concrete surface.
- Installation of new support under generator to lift equipment from off the ground.
- Replacement of various valves, gauges and fuel hose on the generator with ULC rated components.
Work is generally limited to the exterior land immediately adjacent (northeast) of the Brooke Claxton. Work is expected to occur by personnel using powered and non-powered hand-held tools as well as limited quantities of mechanized equipment during regular daytime hours.
This work will not include any alteration, removal or replacement of existing parking lot, roadway, utility infrastructure or pathways, nor is work expected to involve relocation or redesign of trees, wildlife habitats or vegetation (aside from reinstating grass, if damaged).
