The Proposed Project

The project aims to replace the septic tank and its leach field at the Hemmingford CBSA border crossing in Quebec. Since space is limited at the site, it will be necessary to reinstall the septic tank and the disposal field in the same places. The presence of the well on the site limits the choice of location for the disposal field and this is why it is strongly suggested that it be reinstalled in the same place. Particular attention must be paid to the design to ensure that the work will not impact the water table of the well.

The leach field is 13m x 20m, and if the French drain is to be replaced the affected area will be 25m x 32m. The depth of the excavations is about 300 mm. The pump station is approximately 3m x 3m, and the excavation depth for this feature is approximately 3m.

A septic field location report was completed in 2023.
