Notice of determination for the Pasqua First Nation Elder's Center

August 25, 2023 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Pasqua First Nation Elder's Center is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
-Pasqua First Nation initiated the project and community members will benefit from the infrastructure
-no comments were received from the public about the project
-mitigation measures are required for the project

Implementation of the following mitigation measures is required for the project:
-waste will be taken to an off-site landfill
-facility will be hooked up to existing municipal services
-refueling best practices to prevent spills will be followed on site
-construction activities will adhere to all applicable building codes and safety standards

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
