Nzen'man' Bird's Nest Project Project - Public Comments Invited

December 6, 2022 – Infrastructure Canada must determine whether the proposed Nzen'man' Bird's Nest Project, located in Lytton, British Colombia, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Infrastructure Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website

The Proposed Project

The proposed project is to build a new 1456 m2 community centre. The Nzen'man' Center will include a paved parking lot with a bus loop.

Project components include:

  • Site clearing and access road development including the clearing of all obstructions (shrubs, overburden, etc.) and grading to accommodate utility service routes.
  • Service installation and connection for water, sewer and urban storm water drainage systems, electric, gas, telephone and cable television services.
  • Construction of the Nzen'man' Center building. 

The Nzen'man' Centre will provide a space within the community to fulfill multiple services, such as childcare and youth programming, a library space, adult learning centre, youth afterschool & drop in programs, prenatal services, and developmental aids specialist spaces. The centre also includes a large cultural gathering space, a commercial teaching kitchen, meeting rooms, community café & elders lounge, public computer access, and rental office space.
