The Proposed Project

This project is occurring to address concrete that is lifting on the south side of the building. The damaged area is near the rear entrance causing a tripping hazard. Old concrete bollards were removed on the west side of the building and with time it has created sink hole tripping hazards. Snow removal equipment causes further damage to the concrete in these raised areas. This project is needed in order to prevent further deterioration and tripping hazards. This includes adding a sidewalk extension in the generator area, where a new staircase has been installed. By extending the sidewalk this will eliminate the tripping hazard and gravel debris during snow removal. The approximate size of all the work included in this project is 1600m2. Library and Archives Canada is the lead authority on this project.
