The Proposed Project

Zagime Anishinabek School

Project is the construction of a new 2580 m2 K-12 school facility plus 175m2 mechanical room for Zagime Anishinabek First Nation, located on the core community on Sakimay IR 74 at NW 17-18-06 W2M.

The building is designed for an expected population of about 186 students .  The project includes a parking lot, access road, playing fields, and playgrounds.  The building is designed for an expected lifespan of 50 years.  Water, sewer, gas and electric utilities will be extended to the building from existing buried infrastructure under an adjacent roadway.  The site covers an area of 23.4 acres and is located near the existing core community.

Refuse/garbage from school operations that cannot be recycled will be collected in bins and disposed of at the landfill used by the community. Refuse generated by the contractor during construction will be required to be contained and collected on the site, then disposed of in a similar method approved by the community. These instructions to the contractor will be included in the project specifications when they are developed in future stages of project documentation development.
