The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which will perform pavement reconstruction throughout Apprentice Street, Craftsman Boulevard, Sadie Avenue and Navy Way. Work along Craftsman Boulevard includes partial depth asphalt removal and repaving, with select existing concrete curb and sidewalk replacements. The work on the other three roads includes the removal of existing asphalt full depth, restoring positive crossfall/grades with additional granular, shoulder improvements, removal and replacement of select existing concrete curbs and sidewalks, and repaving with new asphalt. Ditch and crossing culverts cleanouts will be performed to improve local drainage. The structure lids and valves within each road will be adjusted/levelled to suit the new grade. This rehabilitation roadwork is restricted to the existing road right of way and connecting lots. Existing storm and sanitary sewer networks in the area will be flushed and cleaned within this project. Construction contracts may be awarded for each road separately or a combination of the roads.
