The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed to install a new chain link along the west side of Area A at CFB Shilo. This project will include the removal of an existing 3 strand barbless wire fence along the west side of Area A CFB Shilo. The installation of the chain link fence will run on the west side of Area A CFB Shilo with an end post being installed on the north end. The south end will be tied into the existing fence. North of the halfway mark a new 3 strand barbless wire fence will be installed and tied into the chain link fence. Installation of the fencing must meet the requirements of the DND Explosives and Ammunitions Safety Manual. The section adjacent to Area A is around 3.7 kilometers and the combined amount of fencing is roughly 4.1 kilometers.
