The Proposed Project

Kawacatoose First Nation (KFN) has identified approximately 25 ha of land located north of the core area on NW .  KFN intends to develop the land to accommodate the growing demand for housing. The project was initiated to evaluate the site suitability for the development of a subdivision, with the intent to proceed to design, construction and post-construction to allow for economical housing development. This includes the development of roads, sewer systems and site drainage.

- a geotechnical investigation will be done prior to the detail design.
- a trench will be dug to accommodate the pipe layer with enough room to lay and join pipes and sufficient space for backfilling and compaction.
-water distribution pipe alignment will be chosen based on topography
-A water main will have a minimum of 3 m separation from a sewer or storm sewer main
- install erosion and sediment control measures (silt fencing, erosion mats, seeding grass and reducing exposure time of bare soils)
- Roadways will be constructed for local access. The road will consist of a minimum 8 m top width.

Minimal construction waste will be generated, which will be deposited in a properly licensed landfill. No hazardous waste is expected to be generated by this project.
