The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project which aims to reconfigure and upgrade the main gate accessing CFB Esquimalt. The project scope includes installing a new Access Control Point on Esquimalt Road, installing a perimeter fence to enclose the Reception Zone, relocating the existing bus terminal to the parking lot east of Canteen Road, and installing a U-turn route using the parking lot south of new access control point. The new access control point will include a gate house, sentry box, drop-arm barriers, final denial barrier for vehicles, and a vehicle search area.
