The Proposed Project

The proposed scope of work consists of the removal and replacement of 1,600 m2 of existing asphalt play area, re-grading of the granular sub-base to allow for positive drainage and replacing existing piers and posts (steel).  New piers, posts and nets for basketball courts will also be installed as part of this project.  The project will occur in the school yard, a manicured lawn/park is adjacent to the proposed worksite.

Waste generated as part of this project will be disposed of at an approved facility.  The nearest surface water body to the Quinte Mohawk School is approximately 1600 m.  A constructed wetland/pond is located on the property approximately 130 m north of the project site.  This constructed wetland is completely enclosed and therefore it is not expected that construction activities will have an negative impact.  However, mitigation measures will be applied to ensure the wetland is protected.
