The Proposed Project

The upland property owner located at 2730 Panorama drive proposes to install a new recreational dock fronting their property. The proposed work includes the installation of two 14 inch diameter concrete columns above the high water mark to support the construction of the pier. Columns will be poured in place and capped using a 3 ply cedar platform. The fixed pier will be made of unstained cedar with thru flow decking. The access ramp will be made of aluminum mesh decking. Two 14 inch diameter steel piles will be installed below the high water mark to support the mooring float. Piles will be installed using vibratory hammer, with final setting by impact hammer. The mooring float will be made of aluminum frame fiberglass decking.  All materials allow for light penetration. The access ramp and pier will be prefabricated and floated to site with the mooring float for installation by a winch mounted crane. The total length of the dock is proposed to be approximately 50 meters and the width of the pier approximately 1 meter. Works will be conducted within the fish least risk windows for Burrard Inlet. Work is expected to take approximately 3 months to complete.
