Saulteaux IR159 Timber Harvest Plan 2021-22 - Public Comments invited

April 29, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Saulteaux IR159 Timber Harvest , located on Saulteaux IR 159EE, is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The project is comprised of the planning, accessing, harvesting, and hauling of timber on the Saulteaux First Nation IR159. The operations (e.g. bush road construction, harvesting, hauling, slash management, and road reclamation) are scheduled to occur from June 1, 2021 to June 1, 2022. Saskatchewan Forest Vegetation Inventory (SFVI) indicates that from the harvesting of planned blocks 86-018-006, 86-018-008, 86-018-011, and 86-018-013, 488.96 hectares, 39,617.80 cubic meters of hardwood, 20,123.00 cubic meters of softwood will be realized.
